People will talk about how "conservative" the Patriots were in the second half, but they threw it 12 times and ran it just eight, (and really seven if you throw out the final run of the game). That turnover changed everything, which prevented them from having time to push it down the field.

They were throwing short dump offs all game. Very few deep or intermediate passes. Most of the passes were safe, high percentage throws. Hence why Zappe had 5.8 YPA.

The last 1.5 quarters is why BB needs to go. As everyone is now giving BB the benefit of the doubt and blame the QB.
But, BB wouldn't go for it on 4th and short when down 13 in the 3rd qtr. It proves he just doesn't want to lose by 20+ rather than try to win.
The 1950's style conservative game plan is so old.
Now that we're almost certainly getting a top 3 pick, who can actually trust BB to get a franchise changing QB?
Because he won't - 100% BB will not pick a QB. He'll trade down or pick a OT.

4th and 4 and they were down 17 and whatever it was, we got a turnover and a TD right after that.

Down 10 is why we went for it on the next possession.

It makes sense.

If you want to criticize, criticize them for not going to a hurry-up, but the fact is, we don't even know if Zappe is capable. Im guessing not

All due respect to Chatham, he is a Belichick apologist. it is Belichick’s fault they don’t have a QB. He picked Mac. He decided to not get a veteran QB behind Mac. He decided to cut Zappe in the preseason. He decided not to give a competive offer to Hopkins. He is the one who thought he could just throw whatever garbage in at RT.

Taking Mac was the right choice.

What vet did you want as backup QB?

Complaining about backup QB is really kind of lame, don't you think?

Onwenu has been better than fine at RT.

Maybe a small one... if they're in 2nd or 3rd and they have Daniels ranked #1 on their board, they should just take him

High percentage in the 1st half, then one of the stupidest INT's ever on first play of the 2nd half, and just went down from there.
Tons of bad sacks, insane air-ball to Pop that could have been a huge gain but right to DB. He just fell apart.
He's the same as Mac, just not quite as a mind-effed YET.

Problem is they need that pick for a QB badly. They could trade down for assets and take a LT but then who's the QB? There's none worth keeping for 2024 on the roster

You need a trade partner first. How far do you drop ? … fairly messy situation,

You take the QB and control him for 5 years. You can pay, trade or draft OL later in the draft. We have a ton of cap space..

If he knew Mac wasn’t the guy, it is criminal not to have a veteran QB on the roster. Could have been a guy like Wentz or Minshew.

And the plan at RT was not Owenu. It was a rotation of washed up veterans, never wases, and a rookie who never played the position before. In fact, it took way too long for Belichick to admit he didn’t have a RT on the roster and move Owenu from RG.

Who is the guy who didn't give said QB weapons?

Same guy who gave Brady a shot. One guy took it and succeeded .. the other guy not so much.

I looked at free agency for tackles. NONE available this year, and the 2 that got big contracts last year (Orlando Brown and McGlinchey) have both busted bigtime. FA for tackles is apparently not the place to look

You have to get them in the draft. I suspect Daniels will be gone by the 6th or 7th picks, which means you cant risk trading back up into the 1st round for QB.

If you're desperate, you can either take a 2nd round tackle, or trade back into the 1st round for a tackle.

Big problem is that you also need a WR.
