The reason there is no mention that he is "in the top half in terms of yards" is because that is negated by a few things. First is that He, Brady, Brees, and Palmer have played in 11 games. The rest of the league has only played in 10. Sanchez is averaging only 33.1 attempts per game. That's 23rd in the league. He's also only averaging 6.8 yards per attempt. Good for 24th in the league.
So, it's easy to see how looking at just YARDS is something a HOMER would do where as, looking at the rest of it is something a level headed person would do. You clearly are the former and not the latter.
Sanchez isn't "clearly on his way" to being an above average QB unless you are living in the 1970s. The reality is that QBs who can't complete over 60% of their passes in this NFL don't last long.
Look, stats can be intepreted a million ways to try and prove a point, that is why they can not be the sole indicator of perfomance. I was meely pointing out that at least two sides of the spectrum should be looked at. Again notice how you conveniently choose not to adess the two to one td/int rate, because it didnt suit your argument.
And just an fyi Eli Manning didnt have a completion percentage in the 60%'s untill 2008. And they won a superbowl.
And, who is to say that Sanchez will not get to 60% within a year or two. I mean it is even possible that he will get there this year.
Completion Percentage is a severely over rated way to judge a QB.
