It’s going to be a great finish for me to go out there and hopefully we can win this game and finish the year off. I’ve come a long way from thinking I was never going to play football again, to being here now. It’s very satisfying.

That doesn't HAVE to mean what it sounds like. These guys aren't 100% precise in how they speak. But then -- it MIGHT also mean he's been thinking a lot about the end of his playing career.
I still think he loves the game, and will play as long as it makes physical sense for him to do. He's one of the loudest guys about the importance of accepting diminished roles. So that's still the base case for me. Besides, how much money has he made in his life? $20 million? Each 5-10% added to lifetime earnings is still a good reason to work another year at that point.
But I'm a little more worried than I was.
