Been looking through some Jets forums today

As confident as I was with this game, I'm absolutely shocked to see the Jets taking it as a heartbreaking loss. They almost pulled the upset when we were supposed to come out swinging.

I'd be stoked if I were a Jets fan today, because it looked to me like the division is still up for grabs.

If we go 5-3 again, we'll be in the same position.
Your basis for the New England Patriots this season is pure speculation. If this, if that, if ... if ... if ...

I think I'm just slowly losing faith in Brandon Lloyd, he never seems to catch the easy passes. Also, the play calling has been extremely suspect at times.

I was actually wondering how this would go over. I think losing a close game here would be one thing. The way they lost it — that's pretty rough for a fan base. We'll see how it goes with the team.

I wouldn't say I'm losing faith in him. I would say he hasn't been the "deep" threat we were hoping for -- more the "outside" threat. I'd also say he has to stop acting as if every incoming pass is a missile fired at him in hostility. I think he's taking the whole 'attacking the ball' a little too literally.

The Miami Dolphins - New York Jets game this weekend is a big game for the New York Jets. Can the New York Jets afford to go 3-5 at the midpoint of the 2013 NFL Season?

If we go 5-3????

That' a stretch?

Really?

We're 4-3 now.

Past season performances (14-2, 13-3) are not indicative of future season results.

With the Patriots they are.

Every year they start slow and win late. The second half of the season for the Patriots is ALWAYS better than the first half.

This team doesn't have what it takes to make and win the SB this year..playoffs yes..SB..no. Unless something changes on D and O..they they won't be representing the AFC

BB has no confidence in D to have them blitz..i kinda almost wish we have Billy O back as well on O

I agree. I'll even take it a step further in saying that I don't want to see the Pats in the SB if this is what I have to look forward to. I'd rather watch the Texans represent the AFC since they'll give the NFC a run for their money. As much as I love this team, their play leaves a lot to be desired on both sides of the ball.

There's no good way to lose, in the end it sucks...losing by a point is gutting, getting blown out is embarrassing, losing by 7-10 points just sucks...etc, etc, ect.

It made my week..:singing:

It's always good to get a win, but as KGB said in Rounders - I feel so unsetisfied!!

It saved my week and made my 3 hour ride home tolerable. I'm not doing cartwheels but I've stepped back from the edge:)

Hmmmm, I like it.

Just like the Eskimos have a couple of hundred words to describe snow, deliniated by flake size, texture, moisture content, etc, I expect a franchise that has as much experience in losing, as the Rats do, likewise has an extensive vocabulary in describing types of losses.

:rocker:

Our O line gotta be gooder.

Our catching guys gotta be catchier.

Our guys that stop other catchy guys gotta stop em. specially Curley.

On a side note, I keep wondering what kinda trouble we'd be in if they had Larry and Moe too.

In short, ya take 'em how you get 'em and you hope the team's gelling rather than sucking.

(Hint: keep playing like that for a couple years and you're sucking. Don't go the the SB for 40 years and you're sucking. Call Sanchez your franchise QB, and you're sucking.)

Hope we're just doing that thing where you catch fire at just the right time and like that.

That's a load of bull. The 2004, 2006, 2009 New England Patriots seasons refute your statement.

Ridiculous. 2004 was their best year ever. Start to finish they were great. Do I think they improved by the end of the year? Hell yes. Using 2004 in your example is bogus.

2006 they won 8 out of 9 before the refs got involved in the AFC CG, and the one they lost (to the Dolphins) was the infamous tape game where the Dolphins had stolen the Patriots signals off a tape. 2006 the team showed massive improvement over the year.

2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012.

Only in 2009 did they not improve over the year.

Baloney!

The New England Patriots started the season 6-1. The New England Patriots ended the season 12-4. A 6-3 finish is not an improvement over a 6-1 start. A defensive collapse in the second half of the AFC Championship Game is not an improvement during the course of a season.

Only in 2009 did they not improve over the year.
As previously stated, the New England Patriots do not start off slow every year and do not necessarily improve as the season progresses.

I ended up turning the game off yesterday when it was 23-20 Pats. However, I just watched the end and one thing I will say is that the Pats showed heart. They could have easily folded when Devin fumbled but not. No matter what, they fought. And Brady did what he could at the end of the 4th quarter.

Yes, the Pats did not play 60 minutes of good football but there aer plenty of positives to take from that game.'

Baloney!

Hilarious! The 2004 Patriots did not improve over the year. Apparently!

The New England Patriots started the season 6-1. The New England Patriots ended the season 12-4. A 6-3 finish is not an improvement over a 6-1 start. A defensive collapse in the second half of the AFC Championship Game is not an improvement during the course of a season.

6+1 = 7

I was comparing 1st half to 2nd half.

The Patriots were a much better team end of the year than earlier that season. In fact, they went from losing to the Jets at the midpoint of the year to blowing them out at the end. They went from losing to the Colts to beating the team that blew out the colts in the playoffs.

As previously stated, the New England Patriots do not start off slow every year and do not necessarily improve as the season progresses.

Only 11 out of the last 12 years. That's not every year. You're right.
