Hindsight is 20-20. Looks like both sides would have been better off had he signed back.
I hadn't heard mention of it, but it is obvious when you watch him. A very quick google search yeilded this:
http://blog.masslive.com/patriots/2014/07/new_england_patriots_roster_bu.html. You could probably find more if you tried.
"Bolden's pass blocking wasn't much better. He received a -1.6 grade, and was charged with giving up three sacks and three QB hurries on the season. Meanwhile, Vereen received a grade of 2.0 while Ridley received a grade of 1.9. Neither was charged with a sack."
I have a bias against RBs who can't pass block, especially when playing with a pocket passer.
Was really pissed when we lost Blount and Fletcher considering how much money they got. Both were very valuable to the team and their exits are currently hurting the Pats.
There's no reason to think money was an issue. It was no secret that Fletcher wanted a chance to start, and Blount is already complaining about not getting enough carries in Pittsburgh, where he's only losing them to Bell rather than to both Ridley and Vereen. We needed that money for, umm, what was it, again?
Agreed. I like Jonas Gray but he doesn't have a lot of speed.Ridley hasn't been particularly effective this season (tough to run without adequate line play, so I'm not blaming the kid), but Bolden's not the answer as his replacement, and it's pretty obvious by how he's been riding the pine that White is not the answer, either. They need to find someone outside of the 53.
If you don't believe me, that is fine, but at least research it instead of simply citing alternative "posiblities". The Pats rarely keep him in to block anymore. The most he usually does is chip someone before he goes out on his route. Pay more attention, he almost got Brady killed a couple of times last year before the Pats stopped keeping him in to block.Bolden stays in to block and releases into a receiver if there is no pressure.
Its possible that the defense fooled him with a delayed pass rush.
does he have any ST value?Im hoping for Jonas Gray myself. I liked what I had seen from him during pre season.
For those that want Bolden. Ehh to me he's to the RB group what Slater is to the WR.
Some interesting FA RBs available (per nfl.com):
- Ronnie Brown
- Tashard Choice
- Felix Jones
- LaRod Stephens-Howling
Some decent players there.
come on if Bolden is JAG then it stands to reason that Grey is one too or else he would have made the teamBolden is a JAG RB, so hopefully it's Grey, White, or an import.
