What the **** does that even mean?
Jason Cole seems to have a hard on for the Saints. It started with Reggie Bush and he still seems to write negative articles about them whenever he can.
The Saints got the ball with a 22 point lead, on the opponents 33-yard line, with less than 5 minutes remaining. They were also averaging close to 7-yards a game on the ground. They wanted to get Brees the record, and I have no problem with that, but it was absolutely ridiculous to claim before the fact that the record wasn't on their minds and that it wouldn't affect the gameplan whatsoever. They had like a 3 minute on-field celebration for it, it was kind of weird.
For all the 'running up the score' talk we got in 2007, I can't remember a single instance in which we had a 20+ point lead with 5 minutes to go and we still were throwing the ball on every down. That was mostly Kyle Eckel running up the gut time for us. We gave the other team about as good a chance of stopping us as we could, short of taking a knee.

The tales of the Pats running up the score in 2007 have become legendary. You listen to some opposing fans and they make it sound like we were up 50 points in every game throwing bombs to Moss in the 4th quarter, of course we know its hyperbole.
The home game against the Redskins was the worst offense. I'm not one to complain about piling on the points though. My response to the defense is ...... "YOU DON'T LIKE IT, THEN STOP 'EM".
On Breaking Dan Marino's most passing yards record. And way to credit your teammates for it. Very classy. I'm guessing Marino didn't credit his teammates when he got the record.
Now if only TFB would get 600 yards against the Bills and beat both Marino and Brees :singing:
"No need for that,” one player told Prisco. “It came on our watch, but it didn’t have to come that way. We won’t forget it.”
“That’s just who they are,” the Falcons player said. “We’ll see them down the road. We won’t forget any of it.”
Maybe they need some tissues tooThese guys get paid big $$ to play football. I wonder if some of them felt the same way in College when their big school was up 65-3, against a small school, and still trying to score?
Falcons players did complain after the game:

Suck it up Falcons.
