The Rats are offering Revis 20 mil per with 60 mil guaranteed? Is this the number being floated out there by the Jets media suckups?
So, they refuse to pay him 16 mil three years ago, pre-serious knee injury, but NOW he's a prized 20 million/yr defensive back?
and half this board mortally fears these mongoloids in Jersey?
I threw those numbers out there to show the stupidity of Woody Johnson. But it has reported that the Jets are going to pitch to Revis that they will consider him the QB of the team and pay him like one and build the team around him. Good QBs are getting $20 million plus these days.
there's no way this can be true.
If it is, how do the Pats work out a deal with Solder before having to decide whether or not to pick up that option? How do they restructure other players to get under the cap?
How would the Saints do it? If they can't negotiate with their own players over the weekend, they'd have to jettison two-thirds of their team!
I just DM Trags
So, if I am reading this right the Patriots don't have to make a decision on Revis until the end of March but his cap hit will count starting Tuesday?
Incarceratedbob weighs in with this tweet that i copied from twitter on my tablet...
**NFL BREAKING NEWS**
Patriots very close to sealing deal with #Revis #IBN sources saying deal is imminent Darrelle staying in Foxboro #IBN
I saw it on twitter and posted it. Him and profootball rumors are always clashing claiming they broke the nfl rumors first. It is entertaining. I responded to his tweet telling him that i will believe this when shefter or someone reliable reports it.Why do people still follow Bob? He's garbage and has been exposed as a fraud. Even a broken clock is right twice a day, as they say.
I am glad he helped us win a championship but 14 maybe 15 is the highest the pats will go.
Personally, I would be shocked if the Patriots went that high, but we'll find out soon enough.
I think some are throwing around some really silly numbers, which tends to happen during every offseason/free agency period. Last year it was all about Edelman and how he'd likely command 8m dollars AAV. The year before it was all about Welker and how we should offer him 5/50 contracts at 10m dollars a year.
One example where some of the higher numbers were true (on some level) were the projections of Aqib Talib, although we'll see if he ends up earning anything close to that in the end.
Because Erika Leigh...Why do people still follow Bob? He's garbage and has been exposed as a fraud. Even a broken clock is right twice a day, as they say.
My reservation about the Revis contract is negotiations may take too long helping a competitor snatch away Devin McCourty. Why should Revis decide before Wednesday?
Sure, he has an idea about what he's worth. But that's a lot different from seeing actual offers, which he cannot see before Tuesday after 4PM.
I suppose the patriots could present him with a final take it or leave it offer, indicating that if he refuses, the patriots will move on and sign someone else.
