Thursday's Game

You guys need new girl friends, IMO.

I hand my wife the Patriots' schedule every April...only life or death situations take precedence. I even watched the Pats vs. the Lions while eating Thanksgiving dinner at the table at my wife's aunt's house and again during a relative's Christmas party.....everybody in my life KNOWS this. Also, my wife knows that Celtics play-off games are off limits too...for the Sox/Bruins...I compromise and only watch elimination games...and I don't watch a lot of college ball on Saturdays as a compromise.

Priorities!!!

I can one up you there...

My wife looks up the schedule herself and plans family events accordingly. We are going to Maine for our anniversary weekend next weekend and when she planned it all I did was raise my eyebrows at her and she said "night game, we'll be home by then".
But the best part is she does it because SHE wants to watch the games, alone with me. No guests, no party. Just the game, beer and food.
What a woman.

Better yet, get a girlfriend like me. I am at every home game (almost without exception) and family and friends know NEVER to call me on Sundays or any time when a Pats game is on. I won't answer.

True story - when my youngest (b/g twins) were around 5 or 6 years old their birthday fell on a Sunday when the Pats were playing. When they found out my son turned to his sister and literally cried, "this is going to be the WORST birthday ever!" LOL, poor kids...

I'm married 23 years and father of 3 daughters. I have no power. I pick my spots and carve time to watch/listen when I can. Too many activities.

Last Sunday I watched the game with my oldest and her new BF (I angled it as I was "supervising" and slinked out of a soccer game) who plays center for the HS football team. Nice kid. Polite. Smart. Has good manners.

He asked me what the Patriots were like when the sucked. I replied, "Like when they went 1-15 in 1992?" He said, "No, when they didn't make the playoffs in 2008.".

I was shocked at his idea of "sucking".

My GF know that the Pats/Bs are my life...so this gets me some BIG points

I mean great for us and our chances of going 3-2 but serious **** Thursday games.

And it would be so easy to fix. Add a damn BYE week before every teams TNF.
Let's see our list. Won't be surprised if Gronk is out.

I go the cowards route...
I hide the remote.

I should hide it down my pants. Win/win.

"Is that the remote, or are you glad to see me?"

Still have to make a move to activate Jules.

Hey, at least he has high standards. ;)

A nice arrangement!

My wife never gives me problems because the only sport I follow is NFL football, which amounts to 16 games a year + potentially 4 more in the postseason.. and she's usually watching the games with me anyways

A 3 hour block of time, at most 20 times a year, isn't a lot to ask. She knows the schedule and when she makes plans she logistically navigates around the Pats game whenever possible

Obviously situations come up during life that are outliers and out of your control, but other than that I'm watching the Pats. I worked some amazing feats on our Vegas trip getting it to work on the plane with the Southwest WiFi on my tablet, and walking around the airport at our layovers with the tablet out playing it, frantically running for an AC outlet (i solved this by getting a portable charger)

I know people with wives that hate football and will intentionally try to schedule stuff to do during a Pats game... **** that noise!

I’ve skipped Thanksgiving. They know there are only 16 games. And 365 days. They can either change around the gathering or have it w/o me. I’m fine either way.

The yahoo sports app is going to stream it. That and the nfl app is what i use to watch at work.

Can’t wait to see some fake punts. Who wants to bet they try it again?
