I was previously against taking a rookie WR early, but looking at this kid I'm convinced this could be a Moss like situation(in circumstance, not overall talent) where a kid who should be a top 10 pick can't get out of their own way and sabotages themselves.
He is EXACTLY the kind of WR we need as Brady gets older, we need the margin for error to get wider for TFB on the deeper throws and outside the hashes. A kid with this size and skill set could correct a lot of mistakes. I disagree that he doesn't look like a natural pass catcher. Doesn't rely on body catching, extends and catches the ball with his hands, his mitts must be huge.
How far is he expected to fall? This could be some insane value if he is there in the 2-3rd round just from what my lying eyes just saw. Would love for us to have another TRUE outside receiver so Edelman could play his natural position in the slot. After O-line/D-line is addressed, I don't see a more worthy addition than an asset who could maximize this offense against tougher defenses and the way to do that is to have more dynamo's on the outside. Lafell is/was incredible value but he is all we have outside the hashes as of now.
How bad is the off-field situation when looked at closely? He was never charged with anything, not even simple assault. So idk how it looks when combed over with the resources of an NFL team. This might be a case of not knowing your own strength and a lovesick kid getting carried away, or a malicious heartless giant attacking helpless women. I truly don't know, but I hope that this kid is vetted thoroughly either way.
What say you?
